Rules for working with children with special needs 2018
2017-12-22, 22:53:55
Recommendations for the teacher when working with children with special needs are offered; when working with children with vision and hearing impairments.

Follow the set order.
Offer a safe place from where the children could watch the activities of others.
Encourage the involvement of children in groups. You can simply do the tasks together.
Use positive reinforcements: smile, nod or scratch on the back, praise for the right actions, do not force the teamwork, pay special attention to the children's sense of trust, necessary for collective work.
Pay attention to the effort, not the result.
It is especially difficult to work with aggressive children, so limit the level of noise and visual stimulation. A spacious room is needed to identify hyperactive children.
Let's make clear: students should have a clear understanding of what they want from them, there should be a daily routine in the classroom, aggressive behavior should be reacted instantaneously and pauses in order to reassure children.
Teach children to control their actions.

Children with hearing impairment

Learn to check the health of the child's hearing aid.
Take a look at the special technical tools that will enhance the effectiveness of the learning process.
The student has to sit close enough to see teachers, classmates and insight. He should see the articulation device of all the participants in the lesson.
Use as much imagination as you can.
Ensure that the student receives the information in full. Sound information must be supplemented and duplicated by visual perception of text, tables, reference schemes, etc.
When starting a conversation, draw the pupil's attention: name him or touch his hand. When addressing and speaking with a student, look at him so that he can see all your movements (articulation, facial expression, gestures, body language).
Before you start posting new material, instructions for using a task, etc., make sure the student looks at you and listens to it.
From time to time, make sure the student understands you. Do not consider it impolite to ask him about it.
Make sure all the words in the text are clear. If possible, simplify the text.
Initiate a student's speech communication. Do not interrupt it, give an opportunity to express an opinion.
